FINAL TWO WORKSHOPS DECEMBER 3 & 10

Rev. Joy Walker will conduct six workshops based on Deepak Chopra’s book “The Third Jesus” beginning November 5. Workshops are each Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Open to the public at no charge.
Chopra poses that there is not one Jesus, but three. There is the historical Jesus, the man who lived two thousand years ago whose teachings became what is considered Christianity. There is Jesus, Son of God, a figure that embodies institutional religion, a priesthood and believers. The third Jesus is a cosmic Christ consciousness, spiritual guide for humanity.
"In this book a man shaped by the religions of the East introduces the West to a Jesus we have
either lost or have never known. That is itself a stunning concept, but Deepak Chopra is a stunning man. He explores what he calls the “Christ Consciousness” which can be identified neither with the Jesus of history nor with the Jesus of the creeds, the doctrines and the dogmas of ecclesiastical I nstitution. This “Third Jesus” can be seen only when we move into a new human awareness that will carry us beyond tribe, prejudice, and even beyond our religious systems. As a Christian, I welcome his insights into my Jesus and his provocative call to me to enter the “Christ Consciousness” and thus to become more deeply and completely human."
